Siena

We took the bus to Siena for the day and enjoyed walking around and exploring the medieval town.  Siena's origins go back to the Etruscans.    In 1348 the town was decimated by the plague.

Cimbing another tower led to wonderful views of Siena and the surrounding countyside.  Plazza del Campo, known as one of the finest public squares in the world, was the perfect spot for our picnic of wine and fruit!

Return via bus to Florence - 1 hour.  Time to enter city -almost 1 hour!  Rush hour traffic?

Arches to comemerate end of plague
