Venice

Founded in the 4th century with canals as roads, Veince is unique.  The city is a seemingly endless maze of walking paths, some that dead-end at buildings or canals.  Many moments spent, often with other travellers, huddled over a map.  Endless fun!  Last night we made it to our first wine bar (bacaro) where you have a wine drink (ombra) and are offerred complimentary appetizers (cicchetto).  We had a wine drink recommended by the gentlemen standing next to us and munched on nuts, little pastry crackers, and the largest capers I've ever seen.   They also sold chocolate and other sweets, which we got to "take away".
